A Bad Day of (for) Adam Ondra

I am a big fan of Adam Ondra and even bigger fan of granite crimpers. Thanks to this video, found at The Lowdown, I can see both. In this video, Adam Ondra never actually gets to the top of a route on link. However he nearly onsights two 14as and a 14b and puts in a good attempt on a 14c/d, again all on granite in the Zillertal, a medium not known for its onsight potential. If you want a good look at Ondra's climbing style, go no further.

A bad day of Adam Ondra from BERNARTWOOD on Vimeo.

I also recommend this video by BERNARTWOOD.

He does get to the top of the first one onsight, the anchors are in his face, but it's raining and the clipping holds are wet so he just lets go.

Well the top and the end are not necessarily the same thing as anyone who has done a route where the crux is clipping the chains might say. That said in essence I agree.

Dude is like a little rock climbing machine. Why bother to rest when you're powered by a miniature nuclear reactor (or something)?

Wonderful high quality video. Ondra, as always, is RIDICULOUS! I have not had the good fortune to see him climb very much, but when I do I always enjoy his style which is very mature already. Favorite quote from the movie:
'I did not see the left foot, and it is so easy.'

I really hate it when people fall, scream and then yard up the rope as fast as they can. Dude! Chill out! Give your belayer a second!

Came to this post late... glad to see the words "big fan of Ondra." I agree. This guy's the real deal, not a one-trick pony, the heir to Sharma. Exciting for our sport to have another superstar.
